Found a pet? We're
glad you're here.

Don't wait. Doing these four things right away gives a lost pet the best chance of getting home.

Step 01

Report

Report the found pet and search the Petco Love Lost national lost and found database, where pets are reported as lost.

Step 02

Check

Check to see if the pet has a microchip or tag and get in touch with the owner. Most vets and shelters can scan for free.

Step 03

Walk

Walk or drive around the area where you found the pet. Create FOUND pet signs you can hang up in the area.

Step 04

Share

Share your Petco Love Lost flyer on social platforms, including your local lost and found pets Facebook group.

Resources.

  • Petco Love Lost — National lost & found database with photo recognition
  • Local Animal Control — Call your county or municipal animal services to report
  • Microchip Lookup — AAHA Universal Microchip Lookup
  • Vet Office Scan — Most vets will scan a found pet for a microchip free of charge

If You Believe a Lost Pet Is Yours

Rescue Network does not operate a physical shelter, so found pets in our care are placed with fosters. If you believe one of our adoptable animals is your lost pet, please contact us immediately with photos and identifying details.
