Every cat below is available for adoption from Rescue Network, a 100% foster-based dog and cat rescue. We pull from overcrowded areas across the Midwest and, periodically, the southern states. Our cats and kittens live in foster homes and partner-store cat condos, vaccinated, spayed or neutered and ready to meet you, so we know their real personalities, from lap cats to independent explorers. Adult cats are $250 and kittens $300; see what the fee includes.
Many of our cats come to us with little or no known history, so some details are still a work in progress. We share as much as we honestly can, and our fosters keep learning about each cat every day.
Litters land all year and go fast. Kittens are listed above the moment they’re ready to be spoken for, and our kittens for adoption page shows only the under-one-year-olds. Check back often, see this week’s new arrivals, and consider applying in advance so you’re already approved when the right litter arrives.
Meet our cats at PetSmart Eagan and around the metro.
Most of our cats are raised in foster homes, and those meet-and-greets happen through their foster. Others live in cat condos at partner stores, where you can visit them whenever the store is open. Look for “Meet me at…” in a cat’s name in the listings above, which points to PetSmart Eagan (1297 Promenade Pl), Plymouth, Lakeville or Richfield, or Chuck & Don’s in Chanhassen. We’re also out at weekend adoption events around the Twin Cities metro.
The fee on each cat’s profile is the one that applies.

How it works
How to adopt a cat.
It can all happen the same day once a cat is cleared for adoption. It’s first come, first served, and we don’t hold cats.
Step 01
Apply
Apply through the link on the cat’s profile. We often get several applications for the same cat, so applying doesn’t guarantee adoption.
Step 02
Meet
The foster reviews your application and, if it looks like a match, sets up a meet and greet. Cats at partner stores can be visited any time the store is open.
Step 03
Contract and payment
Once you’re approved, we send an online contract and a request for payment. We only accept electronic payments.
Step 04
Welcome home
The foster arranges pickup or drop-off. Vet records are emailed after processing, which can take up to a week, and the 3-3-3 rule covers how cats settle in.
Common questions
Cat adoption questions.
What people ask us before they adopt a cat.
How much does it cost to adopt a cat?
$250 for adult cats and $300 for kittens under a year old. The fee on each cat’s profile is the one that applies.
What does the cat adoption fee include?
Spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, FIV/FeLV testing (one cat per litter), deworming, and a microchip with registration.
How do I adopt a cat from Rescue Network?
Apply through the cat’s profile, meet them with their foster or at their partner store, then sign the online contract and pay the fee electronically. The adoption process page walks through every step.
How long does it take to adopt a cat?
It can happen the same day if the cat is cleared for adoption. It’s first come, first served, so whoever can meet first gets the first chance to adopt, and we don’t hold cats.
Is there a cat shelter near me I can visit?
We don’t have a shelter building. We’re 100% foster-based, so most of our cats live in volunteer foster homes across Minnesota and South Dakota. Some live in cat condos at partner stores in Eagan, Plymouth, Lakeville, Richfield and Chanhassen, where you can visit any time the store is open.
Can I meet a cat before I apply?
Yes, if the cat lives at a partner store: visit any time the store is open. Cats in foster homes are met through their foster after you apply.
Are your cats tested for FIV and FeLV?
Yes. FIV/FeLV testing is part of every cat adoption fee. For a litter of kittens, one kitten is tested for the litter.
Do you do TNR or place barn cats?
No. We don’t do TNR or place barn cats ourselves, but the groups on our community cats page do.
